چکیده

This study aims to evaluate the economic and environmental efficiency of Asian African economies. In model proposed, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is considered as desired output Greenhouse Gases (GHG), like carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, undesirable output. Capital, labor, fossil fuels, renewable energy consumption are regarded inputs, GDP/CO2 ratio output, by using a log-linear Translog production function data from 2005 until 2018, including 22 countries. Results evidence cross-countries heterogeneity among namely capital, type use its efficiency. The models complement each other based on different distributional assumptions estimation methods while providing picture Eco-efficiency in Labor share increase technical Eco-efficiency, fixed capital decreases it under time-variant models. Technical improvements verified through time considering variable into estimations, replacing fuels with sources. An inverted U-shaped found concerning fuel consumption. Important policy implications drawn results regarding empirical results.

Technical Efficiency of Teaching Hospitals in Iran: The Use of Stochastic Frontier Analysis, 1999–2011

Background Hospitals are highly resource-dependent settings, which spend a large proportion of healthcare financial resources. The analysis of hospital efficiency can provide insight into how scarce resources are used to create health values. This study examines the Technical Efficiency (TE) of 12 teaching hospitals affiliated with Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) between 1999 and 2...

Stochastic Non-Parametric Frontier Analysis

In this paper we develop an approach that synthesizes the best features of the two main methods in the estimation of production efficiency. Specically, our approach first allows for statistical noise, similar to Stochastic frontier analysis, and second, it allows modeling multiple-inputs-multiple-outputs technologies without imposing parametric assumptions on production relationship, similar to...

The Prevalence of some Intestinal Parasites in Food-Handlers of Asian and African Countries: A Meta-Analysis

Background & Aims of the Study: Parasitic infections are common in many countries, especially in developing countries and tropical areas. People who deal with foods can be a threat to health of communities. This meta-analysis study was undertaken to determine the prevalence of parasitic infections, such as Ascaris lumbricoides, Entamoeba coli, Entamoeba histolytica, and Giardia...

Eco-efficiency determinants: a new approach combining an agronomic whole–farm model and efficiency frontier analysis

The growing awareness on the multiple environmental impacts of livestock production has risen the necessity to widen the definition of efficiency to a multidimensional eco-efficiency concept. Our paper suggests a combined approach of a whole-farm agronomic model and frontier efficiency method to explore deeply the determinants of eco-efficiency. The whole-farm model used, GAMEDE, is randomly pa...
